Help and answers for Model Railroad Record Keeper.
The best way to reach us is right inside the app. Tap the envelope in the banner to open Contact Support — it opens a message with the screen you were on already filled in, so we can help faster. Write what's going on, attach a screenshot if it helps, and send.
Every request goes straight to us and is logged, so nothing slips through the cracks. Here's the flow:
Your request is recorded with a reference number, and you get a confirmation that it arrived — so you know it's in the queue.
We read it and sort out what it is — a question to answer, a bug that needs a fix, or a suggestion for a future improvement.
You'll hear back with an answer, a heads-up that a fix is coming in an update, or a note that your idea has been added to the list for a future release. If we need more detail, we'll ask.
Your sent requests are also saved right in the app under Support Tickets, so you always have a record of what you asked and when. Our reply comes back to you directly.
It's an all-in-one app for documenting and organizing your model railroad. Keep your operating jobs and step-by-step session instructions, a full locomotive roster (road number, model, manufacturer, DCC/sound, function keys, photos), your layout's locations and tracks, an inventory of rolling stock and supplies, a to-do list, and a library of reference manuals and links. It also prints clean reports. The app is built for iPad.
Everything is stored locally on your device. The app has no account, uploads nothing to a server, and works fully offline. Your railroad stays on your device.
Go to Settings → Backup and choose Export Backup. The app writes a single backup file that you can save to the Files app, iCloud Drive, or anywhere you like. We recommend backing up regularly, especially before changing devices.
Install the app on the new device, then go to Settings → Backup → Import Backup and choose your backup file. You'll see a summary of what's in the file and can choose to replace everything or merge it with what's already there.
No. There's no sign-up and no login, and the app works without an internet connection. The only feature that uses the web is the optional Reference browser, which you use to find and save links for your models.
If you received a free download code, open the App Store on your device, tap your profile picture in the top corner, choose Redeem Gift Card or Code, and enter the code. The app will download for free.
